Wall Mounted Shower Stretchers

The client required a safe, comfortable, and reliable wall-mounted shower stretcher to support their daily personal hygiene routine within an existing wet room. The stretcher needed to provide a secure and dignified showering solution while also accommodating the different carers who assisted the client, ensuring each carer could work safely and comfortably.

Easy Care Systems carried out a comprehensive site survey to assess the shower room layout, available space, and wall construction to determine the most suitable fixing method for the wall-mounted shower stretcher. This assessment ensured the installation would provide a safe and secure support system capable of meeting the client's long-term needs.

Detailed measurements of the client were taken to ensure the stretcher would provide adequate length, comfort, and support while allowing carers sufficient access to carry out washing and personal care safely and effectively.

To enhance the client's safety and confidence, a drop-down side rail was specified to provide reassurance while lying on the stretcher and to reduce the risk of falls during transfers and showering.

As several carers were involved in the client's daily care, a height-adjustable wall-mounted shower stretcher was recommended. This allowed the working height to be adjusted for individual carers, promoting good manual handling practices, reducing physical strain, and improving the overall showering experience for both the client and care staff.

During the assessment, we worked closely with the client, Occupational Therapist, and carers to understand both the client's current and future requirements. Careful consideration was also given to water drainage and stretcher design to minimise water retention and reduce the likelihood of carers becoming unnecessarily wet while assisting with showering.

Following the assessment and site survey, Easy Care Systems provided a detailed written quotation outlining the agreed specification and recommended equipment.

Once a purchase order or deposit was received, the project progressed to the installation phase. The client was contacted to arrange a convenient installation date, and the works were scheduled with our experienced installation team.

The wall-mounted shower stretcher was professionally installed on the agreed date with minimal disruption to the client and their daily routine.

Following installation, the stretcher was fully tested to ensure all fixings were secure, the height-adjustment mechanism operated correctly, and the side rail functioned safely. The installation was completed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and all relevant safety requirements.

Our engineers provided a full handover and demonstration to the client and carers, explaining the safe operation of the stretcher, adjustment of the working height, and routine cleaning and maintenance procedures.
